Help with advice on setting up in business

As you prepare your start-up, you can get help from corporate and new-business consultants. These advice sessions cost money. A number of Länder therefore offer a grant towards the costs of the consultancy.

Here is an overview:

After the launch:
Coaching for new entrepreneurs in Germany

Germany’s coaching service for new entrepreneurs is targeted at entrepreneurs in the launch and consolidation phase. The launch or take-over must not have taken place more than five years ago. No assistance is available for coaching prior to the founding of the company. Business people and members of the “liberal professions” (Freie Berufe) can receive advice from a coach over a 12-month period. This can involve the preparation of discussions about finance, the development of marketing strategies or the production of market studies.

No public assistance is available for advice on legal, insurance or tax issues, on the formulation of contracts, on the keeping of accounts, the generation of computer software or the drawing up of annual accounts. Nor is support available for advice on crisis management.

Support for advice for small and medium-sized firms and members of the liberal professions

If you and your company have been on the market for at least a year, you can take advantage of this grant towards consultancy costs. Support is available for general and specific advice on company management. In particular, support is available for advice for entrepreneurs with a migration background.
The supported is funded by the Federal Government and the European Social Fund (ESF) of the European Union.
